In the competitive world of video streaming, Hulu embraces the need to stand out. They understand the importance of differentiation and are committed to offering unique features.
What is Hulu?
Hulu is an American streaming service owned by The Walt Disney Company, with NBCUniversal. It provides a platform for watching movies, TV series, and original content and launched in 2008. Hulu is a flexible substitute for traditional cable TV because it offers both live TV and streaming programming.
Main Features
- User profiles: A single account can have several profiles created under it, each with unique watch histories and personalized suggestions.
- Device Compatibility: Hulu is compatible with many devices, letting customers watch their favorite programs wherever they are. Such devices include smart TVs, tablets, smartphones, game consoles, and web browsers.
- Downloadable Content: A number of television series and films are available for mobile device offline streaming, so if while you are on the go or if you don't have Internet, you can still watch movies or shows.
- Parental Controls: To make kid-friendly profiles and set content limitations, Hulu provides parental control tools.
- Watch Parties: This lets you arrange virtual parties for friends and family, complete with synchronized playback and group discussion.
What can you watch on Hulu?
You can view a huge selection of content on Hulu, including episodes of current TV shows on major networks like ABC, NBC, and FOX. Additionally, you can catch up on both classic and contemporary TV shows. Hulu provides a wide range of movies from all genres, including both new and classic releases.

- Hulu (Ad-Supported)
With this subscription, you may stream a large amount of content from Hulu with commercial breaks. For people who don't mind the occasional ads while viewing their chosen movies and TV shows, it's a reasonably priced choice.
- Hulu (no ads)
This plan has no commercial breaks and the same large streaming library as the ad-supported plan. For those who would rather not watch advertisements, it offers a continuous viewing experience. Restrictions on content licensing may still enable shorter commercials in some shows.
- Hulu Live TV only
This one offers access exclusively to live TV channels without access to Hulu's on-demand streaming library. This plan is ideal for users who primarily want to watch live television, including news, sports, and entertainment channels, without the need for on-demand content or access to Hulu's library of TV shows and movies. I
- Hulu + Live TV Bundle
It includes access to live TV channels, such as news, sports, and entertainment, along with Hulu's streaming library. Along with streaming content from these television channels, it also has cloud storage and DVR features that let users record live TV and watch it at a later time.
- Hulu + Live TV Bundle (no ads)
This plan includes all the features of the Hulu + Live TV plan but with the added benefit of an ad-free streaming library. So in this case, you would be able to watch all Hulu's content without commercial interruptions.
Should I have it?
I would consider having Hulu since it offers a lot of content from traditional TV movies and shows to their original content, and even having the possibility to see different live TV channels. Their subscription plans are also very diverse and have a lot of flexibility. However, I consider that Hulu’s approach to charge more just to remove ads puts it at disadvantage with competitors, since other platforms offer having their content plus ad-free viewing for the same price.
